Pastoral Ministry – Reaching out to the whole world with love

The purpose of this ministry is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to feed the flock. To lovingly shepherd the congregation by means of spiritual guidance, administration, supervision and mentoring for the purpose of making disciples who will become disciple-makers. To edify the body of Jesus Christ for the work of the Holy Spirit as instructed and mandated in the written Word of God.

In our congregation, the pastoral ministry is supervised and conducted by the ordained pastor. The church pastor is responsible for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, teaching biblical revelation, serving in pastoral care functions and acting as chief administrator of the local congregation. The pastoral ministry accomplishes its mandate (to inspire and motivate the congregation to live and proclaim the gospel message of Jesus Christ) by fulfilling six basic functions outlined below. The main objective of this ministry is to equip the body of Christ to become disciple-makers for Jesus Christ.

  • Spiritual Development of Members: The spiritual development of the membership is promoted by preaching Christ-centered and biblically sound sermons, leading Bible studies and providing other spiritual and Christian leadership instruction for the congregants.
  • Training and Supervision of Local Leaders: The pastor is responsible to supervise the training of the local leaders, and to ordain elders, deacons, and deaconesses as needed for the congregation
  • Ceremonies: An important aspect of the pastoral ministry is to officiate and administer the various ceremonies needed for the spiritual care and development of the congregation, including (but not limited to) the Lord’s Supper, baptism, wedding, funeral, and blessing of children ceremonies.
  • Community Involvement: The pastoral ministry is also responsible to promote and facilitate the involvement of the congregation in the local community, promoting interdenominational cooperation, attending community functions as a representative of the church and conducting more specialized outreach services.
  • Counseling and Visiting: An important aspect of pastoral ministry is that of building lasting relationships with all members and prospective members of the congregation while offering spiritual guidance and comfort as needed.  This is accomplished by visiting with the membership and by providing spiritual comfort and biblically sound counsel to congregants on spiritual matters.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

Prayer ministry – Interceding for the body of Christ

PUSH (Pray Until Something Happen), basically, is a team of intercessors. These are men and women who have set themselves apart to labor in prayers and to intercede for this Ministry – the Holy Seed Assembly. Its missions are to pray for church members as well as friends of the ministry and also for the body of Christ, people in government and for all men and women. This is in obedience to the scriptural injunction in 1 Timothy 2: 1-4

We believe, without any doubt that the Lord, our God, answers prayer, and that He is still living and powerful today as he has always been.(Heb 13:8). PUSH is a team that spends the time to wrestle with God over his promises and also wage spiritual war against satanic forces. The acronym PUSH stands for Pray Until Something Happens. This is derived from Christ’s words in Luke 18:1 “Men ought always to pray and not to faint.” The word “not to faint” literally means “not to give up”. We believe in praying, and not giving up until God shows up with answers to our prayers.

Perhaps, you are on this website now and you have a need in your life that you’d want us to pray about. Send us an email or call any of the numbers listed below. If you live in Rochester area, you may also visit us at 1723 1st St NW on Sundays at 9 am, Wednesdays at 6.30pm or second and last Fridays of every month at 6.00pm. PUSH team will pray for you. It doesn’t matter the magnitude of the need or problem.

With God, nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37). We’ll keep knocking on heavens door until God opens the door as he promised us in Luke 11:5-9. That means praying until your situation turns around. And you know the sweetest part of it. God is faithful. He promised to answer us when we pray ( Mark 11:24). God’s promises are legally binding on him. He cannot go back on his word. Trust him with us today and let us knock on heaven’s door together.

Prayer is the key that unlocks all of the treasures of the Kingdom of God. It is a key that God has placed in our domain and encourages us to use. Prayer is the conduit through which all the power and provision of God flows.
